. . . is it going to show up in the new version?
If not, this whole thing is going to be very tiresome.

So far the only thing that I've found is the Conversations page itself (which goes very badly when you try to load it in the sidebar of Firefox, let me tell you!) but we can but hope that it is a feature that we haven't yet seen.

I couldn't have been so polished without you. *bows* but thank you. It's nice to earn my Post Reporter badge on such a highlight.

(I can see by your apostrophes that you're using the new hootoo.)
Speaking as someone who has spent time in Banff for a part of pretty much every one of the last thirty years, you did a truly wonderful job of the entry.
There's been a bit of discussion (all positive, of course) of your trip on Chief Gordon's thread.
I've been meaning to mention to you that Field, B.C., spitting distance from the exit to the Falls and the Spiral Tunnel, has been snowed in for about a week. The highway opened today, but there was talk of an airlift of food for the stranded.

I am at home but prefer the My Conversations tool at work. I'll jump ship properly in a few days when they've ironed out a few bugs.
Thanks for your compliments. I'll find the Saskatchewan Hunt thread and pop back in (I used to hang out but it was lost in the great thread cull of 2010).
That's a lot of snow! I hope the population are OK. It sounds as though people are aware though. Go B.C.

OK... now that this conversation has been move-ed, has there been any indication about whether or not the "My Conversations" pop up will be implemented in the New H2G2?
For those of us that use it, it is invaluable. The conversations list on the new H2G2 is just an adaptation of the list that shows up on user spaces and is missing too much functionality. Specifically, without it auto-refreshing and having links directly to the first UNREAD post rather than just the latest post in a thread, and having it control a distinct conversation window/tab, it just doesn't keep me as connected and it makes navigation unnecessarily tedious.

What Count Zero said.
I am ~seriously~ put off by the absence of the conversation popup.

HonestIago Posted Jan 20, 2011
Also, is the My Conversations going to stay so it only goes back a few months?
My Convos Pop Up Questions
Baron Grim Posted Jan 20, 2011
That can't happen. That BETTER not happen. There are some great threads, long abandoned that would be lost otherwise. (Here's to hoping that convos will be searchable... maybe I'll check.)

For those not familiar with the convos popup use the link below and replace the XXXs with the numerical portion of your User number (drop the U). You can also swap "classic" for your preferred skin.
Normally, when you click this from the side panel (in brunel) it would come up as a separate popup like the "Who's Online" pop up. I don't know how to make a link to do the same but you can open the link below in a separate window and size it down.

Go to my user page and click on the link in the first section that says:
What was I saying?
It will force a correctly sized self-refreshing popup window. I use this link because, as a Goo user, there is no such button in this skin.
The code on my page is:

That gets the same result. It just opens in the existing pane. Anyway, that's still enough for people to get an idea of the great utility of the Convo P'up*.
*Thought it deserved a cute name before it's put down.

I also would like to see a self-refreshing convo list in the newhootoo.

Points about the Conversations Pop-Up:
1. Automatic re-loading tells you when things are updated.
2. It's slimlined and can sit over the main window which makes it very practical to use.
3. You can click to go to either a) the first post, b) the last post or c) all the posts since you last visited a thread. I haven't found any function like that in Barlesque yet, and navigation is a lot more awkward for the lack of it.

I wish I'd discovered it before - I was forever refreshing my MP page in Alabaster (although it was obvious which ones I'd read).
I back your call for it in the new H2G2 - preferably with an additional unsubscribe button.

(there would be a smiley here if the bug didn't stop me posting it)
I never knew about this facility either, 'cos I used alabaster.
(and another smiley here too) [ sulk ]
