H2G2 doesn't wqork for me...why not
Country Squire Started conversation Aug 31, 2011
Each time I click on one of my posts on the BBC message board, of which there are many, I am unable to connect to my posts being told 'Sorry, there has been a problem'. I work on an iMac and Safari. Please can someone tell me why I cannot connect any more?

Hi Countrysquire, and welcome to h2g2
Please could I ask you to post the full URL of the page where you are seeing these problems?

No, it doesn't fix it. At least, the error still occurs in Alabaster.
Oddly, h2g2 threads work but it the Archers ones that don't. It looks like although the Archers info website is up, the message board has gone down. I'm afriad I have no solutions as I don't know who is the best person to contact about other message boards.

Ah, and if you are using h2g2 as an index page for all your conversations, it will display a h2g2 error page even if you are attempting to access an Archers post.

But... if you try to access the messageboard through the Archers page itself it works just fine. It's certainly not down.

I guess my only suggestion is to try not to access the Archers pages via h2g2. I know some people liked our My Conversations tool and used to pop by just to use that.
I hope that helps.

It could be one of these (if any are still active):

That listing is well out of date.
Here's the most recent, there are only 8 boards left now.Not sure how long for though.

Have you ever posted on h2g2 Country Squire?
The Archers is one of the few remaining BBC/dna sites.
Seem to remember the Archer to h2g2 link was blocked some time ago.
Suggest you sign off Archers and come to h2g2 direct from the BBC home page.
You are going to the Barlesque page. Try http://www.bbc.co.uk/dna/h2g2/ and sign in from there.

Hi Country Squire,
Sorry to hear you are having problems accessing the Archers from h2g2, this is because the BBC is gradually closing the doors to the other areas as we prepare to be moved across to the new site.
If you want to use the Archers, you have a choice of signing in via the Archer's link Vip supplied above, or via the messageboard link also posted above
