The most evil person you have ever met ...

Post 1

Rev Nick - dead man walking (mostly)

Who or what is the most cruel, evil or just simply horrid person you have had the misfortune to meet - face-to-face?

I once shook the hand of a man, chatted with him for perhaps 10 minutes, about my line of work. He is now in prison for rapes and murders, plus other unseemly crimes, never to see a free day again in his life-time.

My first grade teacher was what my brother [who had her, too] called "a beast." She wasn't evil. You might even say that it was terror at the thought of repeating a year with her that motivated a lot of students to learn to read.

With the benefit of hindsight, I recognize now that she might have grown up in a military family, and could only operate with a "spare the rod, spoil the child" methodology.

But I'd still rather not think about her....

I had a couple of teachers who were convicted of indecency, and a work colleague too. I'd never have imagined he was capable of it - he was one of the most normal people I ever met.

I had a high school math teacher who was fired for having an affair with a student. He subsequently found a better job smiley - biggrin.

Not "met" but I was at a by-election count when the BNP candidate stood up to make a speech. I'd been distracted by something and turned around just as he reached the microphone stand. Something about the sneering look on his face as he stared down the left wingers shouting abuse, something about his stance, the way the tv lights caught him - I genuinely felt a cold shiver go up my spine as I realised I was only a few feet away from someone truly evil.
