A bit late in the day maybe...but where can I buy snappy things to make crackers? Yes, yes, teh interwebs - but that won't work in the timescale, what with the hostilities fast approaching. Are there any High St suppliers?

A sack of fertilizer, a cup of diesel, a handful of sugar and a primer cap...car bomb. (Don´t try this at home)smiley - winkeye

Ed, your best bet would be to buy a box of really dirt cheap crackers from a £1 shop, and cannibalise the snaps out of them. It probably won't be any more expensive than buying the snaps on their own somewhere else...

Try Hobbycraft or The Works.

Or what KB said.

Besides which, there'll be mottos, Christmas hats and novelties in them you could recycle for use in yours.

KB - yeah, that was where I leaning.

Mol - I had't thought of The Works. Hobbycraft - I was trying to remember the name of the company to see if there was one near me. I don't think so. Yes - but not handy. Ta anyway.

No hats or jokes needed. It's for a necklace my son has made, plus some lovely perfume sticks from Lush.

Have you ever noticed that the people who serve in shops that sell lovely stuff are often lovely? The people in Lush are very lovely. And I bet they smell lovely too.

I've certainly noticed that the inverse rule applies in McDonalds.

I have never been into Lush. Mainly because I find the fragrance as I walk past the shop almost overpowering, and I'm slightly worried I might pass out if I actually go in.

The Works is quite good for craft stuff, in fact lots of those discount type bookshops do that sort of thing (I think that was where I advised looking for crime scene tape a couple of years ago - was that you too?). And there's usually one in most town centres, whereas Hobbycraft is generally a trip in itself.

Now is it simply that Lush etc have much better Ts&Cs whereas Maccy D's treat their staff like shit? Or is there more to it?

Lush also seem to select their staff for pulchritude. Both sexes.

Oh oh oh just thought. Both Smitcraft and Hawkins (on t'internet) are really, really good at turning around orders superfast at this time of year. If you phone through tonight (Hawkins will be there I'm sure) they may actually be able to get stuff to you in time. Worth asking perhaps. I think my latest ever Christmas order to Hawkins was on 21 Dec and it still arrived in time.

But since I only need three I'll go with KB's idea.

Your idea would have saved me a schlep into Glasgow's over-priced Art Store for the fixings for the necklace, though. Still - I had some Gluehwein and got to ogle the Lush lassies.

You're right about the scent making you pass out, btw.

It was the Buchanan St one I was in today.

The other is hardly 'hidden'. You can track it down by smell. smiley - smiley

Odd location, admittedly.
