So long Jim. We cannae change the laws of biology to save you.
Is it too soon for me to take bets on who's going to be the next Star Trek actor to go?

Um, a somewhat morbid idea GodBen, I think, but I found this article on the rest of the original cast:
"Star Trek: Where are they now?"

You know, I only just found out about this.
Don't spread this around, but I really used to like Star Trek (though I stopped watching about mid way through Voyager) and I thought that James Doohan was one of the nicest people ever to star in any of the series.
Very sad to see him(boldly)go.

I think Nemoy's probably the oldest left, GodBen. Probably be a while before we got another death, unless the survivors gang up on The Shat .

Why would they do that? I've heard that Shatner's a bit of an ego. Is this the case?

Well, for a while there was a bit of a brough ha ha about his ego trips. Nichele Nichols refused to speak to him for ages. I think they may have made their peace, though.

It would appear that Leornard and Bill are quite good friends - they made some very funny tongue-in-cheek tv adverts together awhile back in which Nimoy was always showing up Shatner.
Most people seem to object to Bill Shatner's music career but I think it's the same as the ad campaign with Nimoy - very tongue-in-cheek and no doubt he's laughing all the way to the bank.

GodBen (The Magical Astronomer) - 00000011 Posted Jul 22, 2005
I once heard Nemoy saying that while Shatner is a hammy actor, that's just what Star Trek needed. I suppose that's true, after all it had bad sets, bad special effects and bad costumes, so it needed a bad actor to pull it off.
