the H2G2 site looks supprisingly good when viewed through Opera ( http://www.operasoft.com ) running under BEOS, it's also fairly usable in lynx under *nix.

Yeah and it's better in Opera for Win2000 than M$ IE 5.5

Don't worry, you can run certain versions of Linux on a PowerPC Mac, failing that a version of Opera is available for MacOS as well.

Well, actually there isn't a Win2k specific one it works on any of the "32bit" M$ OSs

Want to see annother fun way of causing problems for windows?

well try this under win9x or NT.

create a text document and add this to it (substituting phil.bat for whatever you plan to call it.)

:top
start phil.bat
goto top

this ,under NT5 at leat, will start itself in a new window, after which it and the resulting new window will loop back and do the same again and so on and so on.

it shouldn't cause any damage to your system but never run it while you are doing anything you want to resume doing as although at a certain point it will stop that's because windows has come to the limit of virtual machines and or resouces and when you start closing one the others are suddenly able to spawn new copies again untill they stall the system again.

OH NO ! i've just proven that I don't have a life !!!!
