Another word game of sorts... Though it may be short lived...
There lots of words that sound the same with different spellings; bear/bare, there/thier, fair/fare, stare/stair... (Many of them ryhme, apperently...) And of course there are lots of words that simply mean differnt things; rose (flower/got up), direct (strait to/give directions), book (collection of pages/make an appointment)...
What I am interested in compiling are words that are spelled the same but are pronounced different and have different meanings... So far I've got:
Live (to be alive/in person)
Read (past/present tence of the verb)
Lead (be followed/heavy metal)
Bass (lower octive sound/fish)
I know there are more. I think I've forgotten some since I first thought of this inquiry... :P Let's see what you guys can come up with!

Not quite, they still sound the same... I want differing pronounciations as well... Thanks for trying! I'm sure you'll come up with something...

Good sign Gnomon!
As an aside, what is the word for these words which sound like different words when you hear them but look like the same words when you read them? i.e. the correct term for sounding different but having the same spelling.
There nust be a term for it. Anyone?
