Okay, H2G2 hard-core fans ... this one is driving me crazy. Where in THE BOOK does Douglas Adams talk about a particularly intelligent shade of a color? Is it blue? If anyone knows which chapter of which book, that would be great.

The color is definitely blue, but I can't remember where it comes up. I guess it is in The Restaurant at the End of the Galaxy, somewhere inside the restaurant. I think.

In the first book, as part of the section where ZB steals the Heart of Gold there's a reference to it...

"On top of the cliffs stood a reception committee.
It consisted in large part of the engineers and researchers who had built the Heart of Gold - mostly humanoid, but here and there were a few reptiloid atomineers, two or three green slyph-like maximegalacticans,
an octopoid physucturalist or two and a Hooloovoo (a Hooloovoo is a
super-intelligent shade of the color blue). All except the Hooloovoo were resplendent in their multi- colored ceremonial lab coats; the Hooloovoo had been temporarily refracted into a free standing prism for the occasion."

(Copyright DNA of course)

(Hope the quote isn't too large to get me in trouble)

Wow. Ask and you shall receive. I love this site already. I have never posted anything anywhere before. I must confess, I found this site by looking for a fan site. This is so much more. This is cool. I was a little worried about asking my question after I purused comments making fun of the movie-fans-to-come after April 29 ... I have been an Adams fan for years and years, and I am looking forward to the movie, but I didn't want to be grouped with the newbies who just logged on cuz they saw they movie ...

Thanks again for your quick response!
