h2g2 The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy: Earth Edition

The other weekend I watched some of a dvd of some friends on holiday in Lithuania. Looked like a really nice place, beautiful scenery and nice people (although one of said friends is Lithuanian so that might have a bearing on it). Similarly some friends have recently holidayed in Croatia, and came back with very favourable reports and pictures.

So I was thinking of maybe, next year or sometime, doing some travelling in Eastern Europe and wondered if anyone on here had done so, or is from the area, and could recommend (or otherwise!) any other countries or locations to see in the area.

I think I'll be staying away from some of the more obvious hotspots, but other areas seem to be settling down nicely and finding their identities again.
