I bought series 10 of friends on dvd, but when I play it the bottom of the picture (about a quarter of it) is just black. The menu is fine and if I fast forward I get flashes of the bottom bit. This has happened before with series 6, but it was only on one of the dvds, not all 3 as it is now. I took them back and got a refund. Before I send these back too I was wondering if I'm doing something wrong. I'm trying to play them on my computer and I've used different programs, but they all do the same.
Can anyone help?

Have you tried it on a regular DVD player? If you haven't got one yourself, try it on a friend's. It might be an incompatibilty between the discs and your programs.

The Friends DVDs are exceedingly cheaply made, and the boxsets very cheaply put together. I bought the box set of all ten series, and it had two 'wrong' discs, and 1 disc with a fault. I decided it was probably worth the £15 or so to replace these individual discs over Amazon marketplace or similar.
You were right to get the refund.
