Are viruses and hacking real threats or hysteria?

If Hotmail was the only E-mail system there was I would be back to using pen and paper.

Hotmail is fine providing you don't mind wading through loads of Spam and do not mind other people reading you E-mail as it is to easy to hack Hotmail passwords and do not click on any attachments, even it is a picture of your best friends wedding. If you use Hotmail on a communal system like a University or Library you can almost guarantee someone is reading your E-mail. Other than that it's great.

I use Eudora and Zone Alarm and ten E-mail addresses provided by my ISP. Both Eudora and Zone Alarm are free and together provide 100% protection. The last time I had a virus was in 1988 (Tequila). I don't want another.

I have heard such things about Hotmail before, and would change if not for the inconvenience of changing my email on every site I'm registered in some way. Plus my emails generally aren't that interesting.

Incidentally I haven't had any problems with attachments in Hotmail.
