h2g2 The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy: Earth Edition

My belief system supports the idea that "the next world is within this one" - just beyond a "veil". People who pass on simply continue to exist in spirit but not in form. Quantum Physics is not evolving supporting evidence for this belief so science and faith seem to be converging in that area.

Since my grandmother was at the very least clairvoyant - and "eery" in other ways too - I spent a long time investigating this truth. I really do believe that our "ancestors" are available to us in times of need to help us along, and I also believe that there are souls that "get lost" along the way and get stuck here - wandering about directionless.

There's a lot more research - both scientifically and spiritually that needs to be done on the impact of the "other side" but one thing I did learn in my years of attending seyances and "sitting circle" is that there are - just like in life - souls that are wise and souls that are not. Just because one has passed on does not automatically make them more advanced or grant them more wisdom.

It always fascinated me that people would spend hours and hours trying to contact souls in order to get answers to questions that not even the wisest of our age can answer. I think its something worthy of investigation certainly - but I would be weary of getting sucked into a world of trying to communicate with the other side. The dead are separate from the living on purpose - there's some very intentional division between us, and unless the contact is either desperately nescessary - or welcomed and completely voluntary - I would encourage people to get on with living in the present, and asside from calling on parents or loved ones for comfort - really just leaving the un-bodied to their business.

But maybe I'm jumping way ahead - ghosts - oh yes. But there are also other types of phenomena - entities, energy forms and other mysertious visitors into our worlds.

Isn't it fabulous to know that there's so much out there to discover? Any human being who is bored with this existence isn't looking too hard at the plethora of wonders that surround us everyday!
