yeah, they are one of my favourite bands! A bit of indy/rock/soul/blues all rolled into one. If ever you get the chance to see them live, grab it!

Ocean Colour Scene are perhaps the worst thing to ever happen to the British music scene (the term music obviously excluding all things Watermanesque). Bland Deep Purple riffs, mock soul singing.... Pretty dull stuff. Don't get me wrong, they're talented guys and all, but the Small Faces were of their time. Not 2000ad.
I blame Weller for encouraging them..........

Absolutely. I remember seeing them in a club in Norwich some years ago, when they were they were peddling bowl haircut indie at the arse end of the Baggy diversion. Hamrmless and bland, I left them to the 12" completists. Next thing I know, they've been airbrushed by Big Record Company plc and are peddling half-arsed social comment with that ridiculous mock soul voice. And it could have all been avoided, if only people would remember that Paul Weller (the Mr Big of this whole sorry niche) at one point formed The Style Council. With Mick Talbot. Shout to the top, indeed.

He certainly was. Are we beginning to see a pattern here? Do not let that man near your band!

They seem to have ignored everything that has happened to music in the last 20 years.
