My pc has stopped recognising my wireless keyboard....any wireless keyboard actualysmiley - sadface

Ive pressed the conect buttons on the back of k/b and receiver. The recever is seeing the keyboard because the light flashes when I type...but the letters dont apear on the pc screen.

Pc sees the new hardwear ok.

Ive tried all the usb ports.

The batteries are all good.

I thought it was dead so I bought a new one...and that one doesnt work either.
Ive tryed both on my daughters pc and they work fine on there.

Ive searched Google but not come up with any answers.

Ive searched K/b troubleshooters and again drawn a blank.

If anyone can help I would be very gratefull.

Thankyou very much in advance. smiley - hug

is there a clear line of site between the keyboard and the receiver?
Since you seem to have proved the hardware is ok it must be software. Time for the usual windows (assume you are on windows?) uninstall/reinstall.

Give that a go and might be ok - drivers sometimes get their knickers in a twist so could be corrupt.

Yes Ictoan I am on windows.
Ive totaly uninstaled it and its drivers and reinstalled them...4 times!..still no joy.
Even done a system reset to 2nd of oct' incase something happened inbetween...nothing tho.
base unit and k/b are about 18inches apart and have been working fine in the spot for months.
Device manager isnt seeing the hardwear...doesnt list the k/b just the mouse.
Havent added or loaded anything else that might interfear with it.
Im stumped...
Thanks for your swift reply

that does seem to be royally fubar'd. Have you a restore point further back you could try?

Was their any software installed for them with the drivers? If so, any diagnostic tools in that?

I'd say one of two things then. Core windows file corrupt/missing. Hardware fault in the receiver.

Which all starts to sound to me a bit like a 'reinstall windows' time but that's a bit drastic.

Does a wired keybaord work ok? I presumne so since you are posting on here!

No new USB gadgets?

Are the system BIOS settings configured correctly to enable USB devices as well as hard-wired?

Check your user or mainboard manual.
