Music files rapidly increase in size when converted from mp3 to the wav file type that cd players use.

Usually you can only get around 10 to 15 songs on to an average CD depending on the length of the songs.

Theres no way to avoid this as far as i know, i'm afraid. smiley - sadface

Try checking your CD burner program though, they usually have a function especially for burning music on to CDs, it might allow you to squeeze a few more songs on.

Hmmm...I asked a similar question a few months back, and the answer seemed to be: don't use media player.

I am Donald Sutherland

You best bet is to copy the MP3 as if they were data files with a CD burner like Nero. You should then get hundreds on a CD. Most CD players will recognise MP3s and play them accordingly.

Most Cd burner drives come with a burner program. Usually Nero

I find only newer Hi-fi and diskmans recognise mp3s, older ones won't

No you have to tell the computer to burn the file to CD.

In Nero usually the main menu is split in two, one side is you computer files, the other is the blank cd.

Drag the files you want written from the computer files to the blank CD

Then at the top of the screen there should be a little picture of a CD with a flame on it and a hand pointing at it.

Click that and a menu should come up, there should be a button that says 'Write.' click that and it should start writing the music, i think.

The important thing is you need to be burning a 'data CD', not an 'audio CD'. And if you must use Media Player you might like to try Start -> Run -> type "mplayer2" -> OK

Which is an older, lighter version that smells less.
