Nah, Blue Peter would be sponsored by Sellotape so they no longer have to call it "Sticky Back Plastic"

Did you know that for the first time in my life the other day I actually saw some of the mythical "double sided sticky tape" for sale.
I've yet to see the equally mythical sticky back plastic though.
I must go to the wrong shops.

The mind boggles as to what sort of shops you are visiting, really...

sticky backed plastic (Fablon) used to be able to be bought from independant hardware stores. Came in a vriety of colours and could be used for a variety of purposes....

Fablon is still available in places like B&Q, as is double sided sticky tape which is used for fitting carpets.
DIY SOS could be sponsored by Johnson & Johnson who make Elastoplast and other first aid equipment.
Eastenders should be sponsored by the makers of 'Throaties'.
Fat Friends probably is sponsored by 'weightWatchers'.
ITV Weather is sponsored by 'Powergen' which is probably why we get such awful weather; so they sell more electricity. It would be better if it was sponsored by, say, a garden furniture manufacturer or 'Aviator' sunglasses.

Steel River Blues.
There's room for more imaginative sports sponsorship;
'Thames Water' should sponsor the University Boat Race (how is it Oxford and Cambridge always make it to the final?) While 'Evode' (makers of Evo-stick and other adhesives) should sponsor the Grand National. Pfizer could sponsor the pole vault, the high jump, the long jump and even the triple jump.

I imagine in today's climate a pharamceutical company could ironically sponsor any athletic event and particularly the 100m
