Hello

For some reason all the web pages I display currently on a shared computer have smaller writing than they used to have and I can't seem to find a way to correct this.

OK, basics first, what operating system and what browser?

In both IE and Opera (albeit in different places0 there is an option which forces the browser to ignore the font size set by the page and use your default instead. Indeed you can set minimum fnt sizes as well.

In Opera its in the preferences->fonts area and in IE you go to the 'View' menu option then the 'Text Size' menu option and choose on of those offered that suits you. I tend to use medium which displays as about 12pt or thereabouts for h2g2.

XP and AOL

But I've gone and solved it myself smiley - doh I found that text size can be changed in the view section of IE, but you don't have access to the view bit of IE in AOL so I am a bit puzzled as to how it got changed smiley - erm Especially as I had to specifically shut down AOL, open IE, change the setting from smallest to medium, close IE and open AOL again to correct it.

Sorry for bothering you

not at all. It's something I keep finding problems with and having to change. And not just on IE, but under Linux too. Methinks it is naughty web apps that change it and then you have to change it back.

I'll refrain from the standard diatribe against AOL as I guess you've heard it all already smiley - winkeye

If you can't adjust the font size any other way on Windows machines (AND you have a scrolling wheel on your mouse!), press CTRL, and roll the wheel until you're happy with the font size. Works on all sites that don't have the font locked down.
