Heeellllllllp!!
As the not so proud owner of a quirky old computer; with all the speed of the African Fighting Sloth, I regularly clear out my Temporary Internet Files folder.
However, whilst lurking among Windows yesterday, I noticed that in the Windows Temp folder, there are about a zillion files of much the same type as in Temp Int.
Can I also delete these with impunity; or am I asking for a load of trouble?
Any help appreciated and will be rewarded with you only have to name your preference.

Possibly. At your own risk.
But personally I would do a disk cleanup from windows explorer (right click on c:\ select properties, disk_cleanup) and then see what is left.

I would say yes - delete em all I have done it on many computers, many, many times and nothing bad happened Of course that is not to say that something bad will not happen to your machine - but from the info given it should be OK Until later....

There may also be a C:\TEMP folder as well.
I'd say that any file with a .tmp suffix is deletable without worry. Anything without that suffix deserve more caution.

You can delete them with impunity. You may find some that won't delete because they are still in use. Anything that is needed with be recreated by the application that needs them.

Pint of please.

Am v grateful for the advice. However, I do not appear to have that option. Am unfortunately running Win95 and only have tools (which does not contain clean_up and compression. Will have to go for other options and cross everything including fingers.

Sorry friend; but I've run out of Guiness. However, I am currently in the process of making some banana wine, so I'll pass some down the line when its matured. Thanks for your help anyway.

Banana wine sounds good. Bannanas are my favourite fruit, can't get enough of them.
I'll swap you some of your banana wine for some of my home brewed beer.

Sounds good to me! Pity you're not in my kitchen. A neighbour passed me about 5lbs over the hedge yesterday - hence the wine - I've already made banana cake
