After a neighbour moved out she invited me to help myself to the contents of her shed. 99.99% went to a charity shop, but I kept a couple of glasses with the old "gotta lotta bottle" campaign slogan of the Milk Marketing Board, back in the day.

Not worth anything, but still a lovely bit of nostalgia. You got anytihng like that?

Although not as old as that, I kept some Golden Jubilee special beer made for Jubilee. It wasn't expensive and an interesting thing to be kept for future, not to make money but as a part of history. I also kept a Millenium Bug rubber dog toy, pamphlets warning of Millemium Bug dire problems ahead and assorted Golden Jubilee banners, leaflets and even a special packet of crisps for the occasion. Pamphlets often get thrown away so nice to keep as interesting.

I have got 3 amber coloured Stella Artois glass ashtrays from the mid-70s. They are perfect for holding plant pots.

That was how I found this thread as QOTD.
.
I forgot many years ago I went to a place known as a Victorian rubbish dump and digging through the snow found a lot of Victorian drinks and medication bottles, some with tablets in still.
.
I found a Cod's Bottle, the ones with round bases so have to lay on side to seal bottle, which had the name of a soft drink manfacturer near here. The term "Cods Wallop" is said to come from beer drinkers descripition of lemonade type drinks sold in bottles made by the Cod company.

I'm not really here

I've still got my Charles and Di mug. It's got their engagement picture on it, and the wedding date. The mug has got those 'mosaic' cracks all over it, the transfer is looking rather sorry for itself, and a bit of the wedding date has gone, but I can't bring myself to get rid of it!

I've got waaaay too much "nostalgic" stuff, so much that I've filled half of my sister's garage with it all. But a few items are actually vaguely interesting and genuinely nostalgic.

I've got (or had) a full set of six Smurf glasses that a fast food restaurant chain called Hardee's gave away back in the early '80s. My dad had to drive me over the state line to get them, as there weren't any of those restaurants in Illinois at the time. My niece broke one of them mucking about when my sister moved into her house. I'll have to get a replacement on eBay and recoup the cost from my sister.

I also have a small pennant from Chicago's old soccer team, the Sting. They haven't been around for YEARS.

I bought dirt cheap* a load of pint glasses in february 2000... On one side they say 'Last drink of the twentieth century' on the other side they say 'First drink of the twenty-first century'

They aren't logoed, just amusing cheap tat on reasonably nice pint glasses smiley - smiley
