Are you "perseiding" tonight?
a visitor to planet earth Posted Aug 12, 2007
I will look tonight but I have never seen these predicted showers. I have seen most of the planets and some comets but never a meteor in about 50 years of observing the night time sky.

It's always best to not see everything, or what else would you look forward to?
I've never seen an aurora, but keep hoping it'll happen.

It's now very clear here in Northants (and the forecast is for clear skies). I will go out soon and if it's good I'll stay up till midnight, but if there's no sign then I'll go to bed and hope I wake up at 3 am (peak time).

I went to the top of Ballard Down by Old Harrys Rocks (Swanage) and saw about 6, no light reflection from anywhere and it was stunning

I saw ten between ten and eleven o'clock. I got up again at 2.30 and saw two.

We saw 4 or 5 about 11pm, then got up at 2am and saw another couple before it clouded over again
