I have to say I find Beyonce Knowles annoying. It could be my age but I am not entertained in the slightest by her musical output and I find her voice whiney.

The Gorgons Carey, Dion and Houston take some beating. I try to point this out to people where possible, such as when I overheard a snippet of someone's conversation while shopping in Boots:

"...and a good Celine Dion album."

I instantly replied:

"Well, that's an oxymoron."

and wandered off, snickering.

I'd have to say Carey edges the other two in my book. It makes my skin crawl to hear her name, let alone her voice.

Oh, don't be too harsh on Des! (I genuinely have a copy of 'Dick A Dum Dum' and can sing the *whole* thing - '...get a cute get a pretty girl get a pretty go-go girl and go boy!').

He's worth it for the inspiration he provided to Eric Morecambe, too. I was cracked up recently by this 30-year-old joke:
