The male refs have historically not been of the hunky ilk so I wonder if this is a deliberate ploy or are we to see rather less tasty female snooker refs in the future?

I have yet to see this much-vaunted female ref, is Snooker going for the sexy angle? It's an interesting angle. I like Snooker anyway, it's relaxing to watch after a hard day down the pit.

Ah she's still there although I just did a search on the web and she was made redundant recently according to the top article on google
I guess that decision was reversed.
Apparently she was indeed employed to glamorise the image of snooker.

Surely one look at a Stephen Hendry cardigan and there would have been no need for that!

The female ref of which Orcus speaks is Michaela Tabb, a former Scottish 8-ball pool international player. She has refereed both forms of pool for many years, and became the first female snooker ref the year before last.

By all accounts, she is not a woman to be messed with. She has stood up to Ronnie O'Sullivan on TV, which is not to be sniffed at.
