There is only one thing worse than being Gosho, and that is not being Gosho Started conversation Mar 11, 2004
Anyone got a recommendation for a good, free RSS reader which works on XP Pro, *doesn't* need the Micros**t .NET framework, and which works well with Mozilla? I tried searching Mozilla.org and came up empty-handed

I cannot remember what it stands for (if anything) but it allows syndication for news websites, so it may also be what runs the ticker style headline banners etc. Hmmmm, I am now going to go and have a shuftey see what it is in detail. Until later....

If you don't want that tho cos of the adware, I've also found http://fls.moo.jp/moz/rssreader.html which is a news aggregator for Mosilla Firefox.
Personally tho I use the rss plugin for trillian pro instant messenger.

Thanks for the suggestion Croz
I tried installing it, but it's buried itself in my browser and I can't find it or get it running The help page is for Firefox and Firebird and doesn't seem to bear much resemblance to the full Mozilla browser - there is no 'extensions' option in my preferences, and searching the Mozilla help file for extensions draws a blank.

YOu could change to FireFox - all your cookies, Bookmarks and passwords from Mozilla can be moved over - let me know if you do this and I will tell you the files to move, and for passwords, re-name.

I tried Firebird when I first heard about it last year (from a thread in Jim Lynn's journal no less - do you know about the h2g2 search tool for the sidebar?), but I use Mozilla as my email client as well as browser, and I occasionally use Composer too, so the standalone browser wouldn't be of any use to me. Thanks for the suggestion though
