Who else has come across pointless webpages, or those that seem to have no reason for existance except to make others wonder.
Here are some I have come across:
www.pig.com
www.thispagecannotbedisplayed.com
So, whats some of yours?

Jab [Since 29th November 2002] Posted Mar 9, 2004
I find lots of shopping and/or "super web deal" sites a waste. Take comet.co.uk the price of say a mobile phone £119, yet instore the treeware shows it at £59. Carphone place just as bad. Same for a DVD player I was looking for, Currys have it in-store, yet the webesite does not have it listed, by chance I found it in a mag, on offer. empiredirect.co.uk is not all that either.
It's not just shops, but even ISPs. Looking at the Freeserve page today. Click on Broadband, did it want to tell me the price structre beyond the 3 month intro - did it hell. The "more" link stated going on about dial-up features.
So, today I began to wonder what is the point of these web sites bar saying the company is on the web.
Some web sites are good for info, technical details, but for shopping, not so sure.
A few weeks ago I needed a new car battery, wanted to buy like for like, tried a serch for the brand on the web, and it gave a list of companies in Malta, not UK distributors. Ended-up going into the car dealer and buying on of thiers, not that the car maker had a web site that gave prices for parts, just glossy Flash, Macromeda stuff about new cars.
So yea, what is the point of these webpages that just sit there waiting to disapoint.

The apache page, congratulating you, as your ISP is running apache seems a tad pointless.

You should have seen it before it was blanked out. A blank page is preferable than what was there before!

Ah. Justin. Of course.
Thought he'd gone quiet. presumably he's gone past the pre-mod stage of the discipline procedure.

I liked the badger page, can't ever have anuff badger pages, as my Grandfather used to say 'when you find the road, and trail for a time down the road, then in having passed down the road you have moved on from where you were, and still never enough badgers can you find, on this we are sure and as it is a way of life it is a mannorism for imagineing ways of lives, as ever it was, and so it shall be' strange bloke my grandfather

On a similar note, does anyone remember the original http://www.nothing.com/? That was quite funny - but they've changed now.
And on the 'Page Cannot Be Displayed' spoofs, try 'I'm Feeling Lucky' in Google for 'French Military Defeats' - If it's still number 1 hit for that on Google, of course.
