Babies dream. You can tell. Right from birth they do the REM and twitching thing in their sleep. But what do they dream of? I asked ours and she said "gaa" which didn't help!

Try to remember this conversation until she's old enough to tell you what it means / meant. Sounds like an attempt at Grandma or Granpa to me, or French railway stations. If the next word was "nicked", it's German for "nothing at all"

Seriously, if the function of dreaming is to organise memory and learning from what has happened that day then babies dream about crawling,vocalisation, recognising your face and expressions etc.
