why is it that you never (or hardly ever) get sunburnt in places that have no hair? Like on your hands where the hair stops below your thumb, or on your finger above the second knuckle and the tips of your toes?

well there is normally hair on everybody's face, neck and back, little white ones about 2mm long, for women, and unsightly spiradic growth on men. and unless you can see your back then how would you know if there was hair or not? but for the moment I'm more concerned with the hand and finger and foot issue rather then upseting you with cryptic verbal abuse.

Some people have hairy fingers and toes. They probably don't get burnt because they don't get left out in the sun so much.
