Apparently new bendy lamposts are being installed around the country. Appols to anyone who has been involved, or known anyone involved, in such an accident but I just loved the picture caption on the page
"High-speed impacts with rigid metal posts often result in death"
And that took them how long to work out?
Another thought, if they really are bendy, that ain't half gonna cause some confusion next time you walk into one drunk! See me? I'm Super Strong! I can bend lampposts!!

Have these lampposts been drunken-teenager-tested? I mean, once word of this gets out, the national sport come closing time of a Friday will be to shin up and swing from the top in the hope of causing bendage.

...always assuming that obesity levels have left us with *any* teenagers capable of shinning up lampposts...

"causing bendage" ? That sounds rude
what with teenagers and students, they'll never last will they?

The Swedes have been trying similar 'soft roadside furniture' out for a while, given the national past-time of driving

Soft roadside furniture?
Like foam phone kiosks and pliable pillar boxes? There could be squishy signposts and bouncy bus stops too. Paving stones should be foam rubber so you don't skin your knee if you trip.
I've often thought our environment is much too hard for sensitive 'bags of mostly water' like us.
