Probably because the jar had a larger nutritional content than the cheese spread 
Similar principle to Bird's Instant Whip in that respect.
What also happened to peanut butter and chocolate spread in the same jar? Now I've got to buy a separate jar of cheapo supermarket chocolate spread to go with the cheapo supermarket peanut butter.

I often wonder that myself.
My mom used to always buy it me as a kid i loved it.
i still look now if i go to a different place on the hope they may have it.
But they never do
