Been there, Seen it, Got the T-shirt : Meeting people you met on the internet
msmonsy Posted Jan 13, 2000
what i am about to say has already been said but i will repeat it just in case someone did not catch it or failed to read the whole thread
the "times" have changed a bit and now with the invention of the computer and the internet it has allowed people who might of never met before to meet. if you think about it meeting over the internet is really no different than meeting in the laundry mat, grocery store, your local pub or by blind date. the rules are the same either way....chat, get to know each other, if you find you have common interests set a date to meet (in a public place of course, just like if you met anywhere else) and see what happens from there. yes, with it being on the internet many people are a bit afraid of a homicidal maniac but if you think about it the same thing could happen with the so called "old fashioned" way of meeting, you do not know what the person is like until you get to know them. as long as you use your brain and follow your gut feelings things should work out fine whether that be work out as friends or lovers

Linus...42, i guess that makes me the answer... Posted Jan 13, 2000
Couldn't agree more monsy. Just use your common sense, as you should all the time when you meet someone.
Mind you all the people i have chatted to in H2G2 seem to drink like so i would have no trouble meeting them in a pub somewhere, especially if the y were going to pay for my airfare !!!!! I guess that would make it my shout .....
