Opticalillusion- media mynx life would be boring without hiccups Started conversation Jun 4, 2006
Hi there I've recently encountered that when I log in my setting is brunel until I go to my preferences, where the setting alabaster I want is already highlighted and I click apply. Whats going on? It never used to be like this ...... its causing me irritance.

If you bookmark your space in alabaster and sign in from there you can get around the bug. Tis what I've done.

Tis a matter of personal taste and what each person feels is easiest to naviage and read the site with.
I personally find alabster the least ugly skin with the most intuitive layout and best readability. Goo, I find too dark and uncomfortable to read any great amount on and the yikes button is frightfully ugly [looks like a blow-up sex doll] and smileys don't look great in it either.
Brunel came after I joined and I didn't see any great advantage to it, especially as I was on dial-up. Over top, less easy than alabaster to naviagte with and no fan of the industrial look.

In all my time here, I still haven't learned to preview before posting.

Magwitch - My name is Mags and I am funky. Posted Jun 4, 2006
Me neither (unless I'm unsure of a smiley ) Have always used Goo, and find the other skins clumpy to manouvere (sp?) in, to be honest. Like the Darkness. anyway.

Have they lightened up the classic background? I just flipped into Goo, didn't seem quite as deep/rich in hue as I recalled. Could just be that I'm now on a 20" screen with a much higher resolution and that having it spread out across most of such a screen set-up isn't quite as oppressive as it was on my old 15" CRT.
The yikes button is still just disturbing though!

Not him Posted Jun 4, 2006
I can't say I can see any change, but then, I usually use brunel. I used to use classic, but i eventually had enough of the blue with white writing. It's ok for a visit, wouldn't want to live here (in goo)

It's still #000066. I used to have text on my PS in #000066, I think the contrast between that the alabaster background gave it a deeper richer feel in my memory than it actually has as the goo background.
