The Groob

We had a cat who understood pointing perfectly well. Although I always thought he was a dog in disguise - he was a very smart cat indeed. He probably had a little siamese in him too.

The squinting thing works well with most cats. You can have a 'conversation' with a cat for some time just by squinting. Also, blatant yawning is supposed to put them at ease too.

I'd never heard of the smiley - cat squinting thing before, but I squinted at my cat this morning and she came right over and laid down on me for kitty cuddles! smiley - smiley

It's weird though how some people are just 'dog people' and some are 'cat people'. When I was growing up, my Mum always had a cat. But we all turned out to prefer dogs.

I think the smiley - cat squinting thing is the opposite of the smiley - cat staring thing. smiley - cats see to interpret steady staring as preparation for an attack. Even better is to stare at them while peeping around a door, they freak out completely.

The squinting thing is the opposite: I am not going to attack you, I trust you not to attack me.

Just Bob aka Robert Thompson, plugging my film blog cinemainferno-blog.blogspot.co.uk

Our cat goes violent when we peek at her from between the bannisters of the stairs. It's fun.

While smiley - cat squinting seems to be useful, it makes both my smiley - dog's very nervous. They seem to think I'm angry with them.

I enjoy my smiley - cat, she provides comic relief, but I'm truly a smiley - dog person at heart.
