well, i thought of this before i read yours, the pushmepullyou of dr. doolittle fame and ping the widely-traveled duck.

I wholeheartedly second Teasswill's nomination of Gromit. And running a very close second has to be Gaspode, who can't talk - when did you ever hear a dog talk?...Oh, and by the way...woof.

As for cats, well........

In third place has to be Top Cat and the gang.
