The Groob

Does anyone know if Hannah Hauxwell (the innocent) is still alive? I keep having this conversation and there are conflicting reports.

Two weeks ago this question sent me off to a prologed net trawl, but to no avail. So I'm bringing the question back up in case anyone else knows smiley - star

This is the best I can find:
http://www.daelnet.co.uk/features/dalesfolk/page4.htm
But it's hard to tell if it's up to date

Her last book was 1999, so let's assume she was alive then (likely but no gurantee). If she's died since then, I'd have thought a net search would turn something up.

if you're desperate to know, you could check with the publisher's of that last book (Commonsense book of a Countrywoman)

Last updated 24th Feb 2003, although how old the actual data is is anyones guess but a claim to have seen her from a local resident.

She's an old lady who looks like the epitome nice old lady. She lived inthe Yorkshire Dales all her life and never went more than a very small distance from where she was born/brought up/lived. The TV types ended upsending her all over the world to get a 'fresh' perspective on modern life. All of this was... when? early 90's I think it started.

A bit like Sister Wendy without the wimple, buck teeth and painted genitalia (on the pictures that is).

I've been tot he library this morning and checked who's who and the bio dicts, but she's not listed. smiley - sadface

Sounds like we need a HooToo outing to the dales to find out.
Perhaps we should visit all the pubs in Yorkshire to check the local gossip? smiley - blacksheepsmiley - smiley
