Why do jeans get holes at the upper inner corners where the back pockets attach? Is there a lot of wear there?

Yes, there is a lot of wear there. That's where the pair of bones, the ischum or illium, I can't remember which, that your gluteus maximus attaches to are closest to the surface. Interestingly, this kind of wear is more of a problem for thin people.

Now, there are many other variables to consider: What are you sitting on? Is it hard (more wear), or soft (less)? Is it tight fitting (more wear) or open (less)? The permutations are endless!

Permutations. Sounds like the hair of someone I know.

Tight jeans put more strain on the material, loose jeans will last longer just not fashionable

Nope, unfortunately baggy jeans are becoming fashionable again now. Now that Metal has become fashionable. When I've been wearing them for years. Gits. Go back to being fashionable and leave me alone.

I think more people should discuss jeans.

I wear both tight and loose jeans, and have been doing so for years.

I discovered on Wednesday that my favorite shop where I like to buy jeans, has gone to s**t, and I can only order them via a catalogue (AFAIK).

Jeans are handy casual wear. I wasn't aware the corners of pockets wore out.

Hmmm, they haven`t done that to me and I`ve got fairly protuding bones. And I buy cheap jeans.

Or maybe they`re just too loose. It`s not easy finding jeans that fit me.

As far as I can tell, jeans weren't designed to fit men. Every pair I've ever owned is either crotch-restrictingly too tight, or builder's-arse baggy.

And the place where you buy your jeans doesn`t have a strange large amount of dresses and lingerie in it I suppose?

Napnod - they're not getting rid of it, so much as the fact that Channel 4 won the bidding war for new series.

For some inexplicable reason, BBC get a lot of complaints about showing Simpsons repeats every weeknight. I could quite happily watch the old ones every hour on the hour.
