Why is Milliways on two different planets?

Can anyone explain why Milliways is on the remains of Magrathea in the radio series yet is on the Frogstar planet in the novel 'The Restaurant at the End of the Universe'? I'm confused (and it doesn't take much to do that).

There are lots of contradictions in the various versions of the HHGTTG. Perhaps we could consider them all as describing parallel universes which differ slightly from each other.

Ah haa! Didn't think of that! I'm in the process of greatly enjoying the audio book of 'TRATEOTU'. It is wonderful to hear the author's voice reading the story (with added vocal effects) and to have numerous embellishments and diversions to the original radio adapatation.
