That server thing sounds great. Imagine how many hours of music you suddenly have you can choose from. I want that.

If you have a PC, a hard disk with about 4Gb of space, and a big CD collection, you can do it too Xantic
All you need is a CD ripper... there are a few decent free ones... hrm. But I can't seem to find a link... ah well.

Well, I use Linux anyway
But there are free ones for Windows too... despite the fact that virtually everyone will try and charge you for them.

which is a god thing about linux. You can use the windows partition just as easy as the linux partition.

My friends use Linux. They also have a hifi separate that plugs into their LAN, while being physically placed with a Hifi unit in their lounge, so they can play the music through that system as well. Quite how they choose the tracks I don't know. And, I can ftp into their server and play the tracks on my hifi via my PC on the other side of town! How cool is that!
