Asteroid collisions may be a regular event on an evolutionary time scale, but they're not a regular event on MY timescale, and I'd rather it stayed that way, thank you! I have no wish to be evolved with extreme prejudice.

I've yet to check the manual, but I don't believe it's a voluntary thing.

Hey, do you think if no one registers NT7 then microsoft will withhold it from us?

Nah - Gates will just buy the licensing agreement for exclusive rights to the Richter scale. That way He'll know when NT7's registered.smiley - laugh

The odds are currently 5 million to 1 of NT7 hitting.

The number of potential impacts has reduced to seven, which include one very close shave and two smack on target.

Would selling nuclear shelters be a good business move about now?

If it is a Microsoft product, then we should be really worried. There's no way Microsoft would get NT6 stable in 17 years, let alone NT7, so it's bound to crash... smiley - yikes

And anyone who did survive would get hit by NT7 SP1 a few months later.

"I think you might have a point there. Either that or there's something else going on, that the powers that be don't want us to know about. So they simply release this story.

I heard today on the radio, that NASA have called off the 2019 collision, but they can't rule out one in 2060. (I'll be well and truly out of it by then, barring weirdness...) smiley - ufo

I like that wording. Knowing NASA, it's probably due to funding problems smiley - winkeye

At a stretch I may still be around then, depending how the ozone layer holds up.

Yes I saw that. It seems NASA has had a lot of luck because it doesn't seem have been the best run of organisations

An astronaut once said something like: 'It really gives you confidence to know you're sitting on top of thousands of vital components, all supplied by the lowest bidder'.

Steve Buscemi said something like that in Armageddon.
