I should hasten (as if such were possible with the servers today) to point out that this is not just another one of those annoying game threads that have no place in Ask h2g2.
The question is inspired by 'an h2g2 poem' appearing in the latest issue of in which I was delighted to see the words 'warn us' rimed with 'corners'.
Having now spent the weekend thinking up pairs of words which rime but have no other real, apparent or poetic connection I am now asking the h2g2 community to share their insights into other such unlikely pairs.
[Note: I always spell rime the way Chaucer did. He was after all the first great poet.]

It had to be rapid,
That use of detergent.
The smell now emergent
In no way is vapid.

There is only one thing worse than being Gosho, and that is not being Gosho Posted Nov 16, 2005
10cc were masters at weird rhyming:
"Don't wanna annoy ya with my paranoia"
'Do The Sacro-Iliac', from the album Sheet Music
And there's a line from a band which I can never place, something along the lines of "He couldn't tell a Stratocaster from a nuclear disaster". If anyone can clear that one up for me I would be eternally grateful.

Well it seems there aren't many would-be poets about, but I'll bump the conversation up the list with this post and see if we can't get some further interest.
My original point was that there are several pairs of words, especially odd words, that rime perfectly but are (for one reason or another) not the kind of words you'd normally see in poetry.
While I hate to give them all away I feel obliged now to offer at least one more example for your inspiration and consideration.

A mate of mine and I once wrote a song entitled "The Cost o' me Colostomy (was our love)", and then almost immediately wished we hadn't.

Hey ~jwf~
I told the guys at the pub that you liked their efforts. They're now referring to themselves as Extreme Rhymers. Dave (who claims to have penned 'warn us/corners') is threatening to get a T-shirt made up with 'Extreme Poet' on the front and 'Appreciated in Nova Scotia' on the back.
He's also promised to offer their latest epic to h2g2. It isn't finished yet, but it's said to include all three of the following :
Euthanasia/Stu's a glazier
Constipation/one sick nation
Armaggedon/Father Ted on
I think they might be trying too hard, but it's true : Stu really is a glazier.
Someone pointed out that the car-poem owes something to Ian Dury's 'Billericay Dickie'. I didn't see it at the time, but there are parallels. That song is a masterpiece of mangled rhyme, so take a look if you don't know it :

So my neighbor, Bob, delayed her.

Yikes!
That little ditty is just so wrong on so many bevels. I'm sure my pomme-a-granite will never be the same.

Good point.
Maybe I should get behind that mule and amend the subject line accordionally.

Nobody rhymes like Tom,
He rhymed atrophy with atom bom,
Then to follow up he went dolally
and tried to rhyme that with Sir Walter Raligh
