Problem with Peer Review

Post 1

The only reason this problem has come to my attention is because it suddenly seems to have become mine. smiley - sadface

It seems to me that the only way any peers are going to review your entry in the peer review is if the title seems interesting. I submitted an entry for peer review yesterday (Pars Iranian Restaurant, Dubai, UAE) and still no-one has responded. Yet I notice that the ones with vaguely interesting titles such as 'Body Art' and 'Mock-Goths' seem to be constantly reappearing as having the most recent post.

Does this make the peer review system biased? Does it compromise its efficiency or effectiveness? Has anyone else had this problem?

LOL!

I may be the wrong person to respond since I read this entry (it was really good, btw). But I know those threads have been around since before the shutdown, so there's a lot of continuing dialogue in those forums.

But I think you're right, odd or off the wall entries will generate more discussion than a 'straight' on something like a restaurant. But if the restaurant piece is well-written, it will eventually get chosen.

I've got four or five entries in Peer Review that I submitted a week ago that haven't generated much comment either. So maybe you could go read them. By participating in Peer Review instead of waiting for reviews, you're bound to generate more comments on your own entries as well.

Alternatively, you could volunteer to become a Scout and help seek out 'straight' entries that are being lost in the threads and recommend them for inclusion into the Edited Guide.

Just my two cents... smiley - winkeye
