I announce with pleasure the triumphal entry of the delightfully convivial and charming U11153147 , Turlough's Terrier, to the hootoo scene. One of a kind, you know. I'm away to annoy her now. After I hide one or two journal entries.

I do hope you don't frighten her away. Then again if she already knows you then she's not easily frightened.

Don't worry, Venus, the fear factor's worn off by now!!
I believe I've read the offending journal pages. Very amusing reading . Unless you meant other ones! Now I'm wondering..

There is only one thing worse than being Gosho, and that is not being Gosho Posted Feb 29, 2008
I'm really not following this at all. What information am I missing about the deal?

Dunno if you remember it Gosho, but Turlough's Terrier was the one involved in the Foster and Allen ticket fiasco some time ago, among other things. She's spending a little while up on the civilised side of the Irish border at the minute.

I knew Foster and Allen would prove to have some purpose to their existence!
Welcome, TT

Isn't he just, Ed? Look at those little puppy dog eyes.

Who'd have thunk Enoch Powell is responsible for all that flat singing?
B, ask away here if you like. The mobile number's the same but the phone itself has gone walkies. I know it's in the house somewhere and I've tried ringing it, but it must need charged.

Well it probably needs you to come and look at the garden, but basically the bottom bit of it is on a slope and holds the rain, plus has been ruined by the dog's peeing. So now we've built a proper dog run, and are thinking of zoning the garden and changing that patch from grass to....well, something else. But what?

Ferns and hostas are the first thing I'd think of. Does it actually get waterlogged with big puddles etc?
A new victim
KB Posted Mar 2, 2008
Yeah, you could gravel it. If the puddles are very bad, you could put a bit of a deck over it either, to raise it a bit. A mass planting of hostas and ferns would be though. The slugs would doubtless tuck into the hostas, but they'd still flower in summer, and the slugs never kill them. They don't seem to bother at all with ferns.
(I was about to recommend these boys from Carnlough as they have lots of variety, deliver to your door, and are very good value -- http://www.mailorderplants4me.com/default.aspx - but they haven't half put their prices up in the past 2 years! )
Venus, as you're here too, what's your opinion?

Come to my Eurovision party and you can see it for yourself...

Beatrice Posted Mar 2, 2008
No that was just a warm up party during the Irish voting show. The MAIN party is sometime in May.
Actually, come see the garden before then, if we're going to be planting stuff.

Incidentally, if anyone does want to see all of KB's journals, including those he has removed from his PS, they are all here:
