For the same reason I started a new conversation for Aleichem I've started a new one here, so that comments don't get lost in all the stuff in the other thread.
My first thought when I saw your style was 'No, this isn't it at all' , but as I read it I discovered that I really like it! Am I interpreting correctly that this is all your original work, that the only quote is the bit at the bottom? I only ask because the style is a bit misleading.
My only concern is if this would be acceptable for getting the project in the edited guide. I really hope it is, because it's a nice departure from the standard house-style. I say we'll leave it as it is, get some more comments on it and seek an official editorial opinion later. Sound fair?

Hi broelan
Thanks, and yes, that sounds very fair.
You're right : it is all original, except for the Apollinaire epitaph.
There's a certain amount of licence here, in particular the presumption of invoking Breton as the supposed author. But the facts are all true (except for the ones that Henri himself made up!), and Rousseau really was an icon for the Surrealists.
Even Breton's address, with the 42, is right! I rather liked that.
The biggest problem for the Edited Guide might be the first-person usage, though it is technically first-person in reported speech.
If there are objections, I promise to change it, because we shouldn't have my self-indulgence spoiling your project.
For the meantime, though, let'srun with it, and see if we can push the boundaries a little.
Last word : I really enjoyed writing this, so thanks!
