I don't understand it either but I think it's to get anyone who knows Jack to rally around and give him and Charlie the support they need during tough times to come

Not that I mind at all, I'm just a bit confused...
Talking about the Tearoom, you said there, that you have never learned to crochet...
Do you know this page: www.stichguide.com ? It has videos that shows beginners how to do the different stiches...maybe that could be helpful?
