It will take a little while before I start posting entries and learn the emoticons. I like to make sure my work is at least understandable before I post it.

Easiest way to learn smileys is hold the cursor over one and it'll give you the good.

Don't worry too much about being understandable in conversation threads, there are plenty which certainly aren't. As for entries, they do take more work but there's no rush, plenty of researchers never write any at all.
