I agree that it's kinda tedious sometimes and not up to Altman's full abilities as a director but two words make me love it:
Tom Waits

Oh, definitely. He's great. Does a really good White Trash character - just in spirit with the Carver one (even though I can't see anyone in his stories driving a limousine... not to speak of the plot having been changed drastically).

Man, this is an old thread... hard to believe nobody posted here for over five years.
I miss Haikeeba. Back when he returned to h2g2, that was some of the most fun times we had in the MotMV.
*sigh*
Anyway, I thought that while all the weird stuff is going on in the Tearoom and all that, someone might want to revive the movie quote game that has gone on in here in days gone by. Any takers?
I'll start, just to maybe get things going:
- "Come on, [character], rise and shine."
- "RISE AND SHINE?!"
- "It's 7:30."
- "Then you rise! You shine!"
[Reminder: No googling/imdb-ing allowed, either you know it or you don't.]

Well, I'll try another quote or two, see if anyone drops by here and knows the movie... this game tends to be more fun with more people.
So, second quote:
- Therefore, in the interest of progress and harmony, I am willing to concede to your point of view.
- Concede?
- You're an emancipated woman, [character]. And I am an emancipated man.
- *leaves in a huff*
- *ponders*
...Okay, I'm going to do a bit more, because the next part is related to the same scene, and mostly just because it's fun.
So, one lengthy, jauntily-edited argument later:
- And because I consider myself sexually free and morally emancipated, I am still a responsible, discriminating woman, who does not intend to jump into bed with the first wavy-haired, muscle-bound, egocentric male who thinks he can seduce me by agreeing with some of the things I believe in!
(actually, I have _much_ better quotes, but I didn't want to have all of them from the same character, so the next ones will have to wait some more...)
Key: Complain about this post
