So anyways... I saw the last ten minutes of this crazy-go-nuts movie called The Life and Adventures of Santa Clause. It's a Santa fantasy movie. I looked it up and it was based on a book by L. Frank Baum (who wrote the Oz books).
It's all about Santa being abandoned in some forest where all kinds of immortals live and being adopted by some sorcerer or something. He is shown all the squalor and misery of the mortal world and decides to dedicate his life to making children happy. And there's some sort of good vs. evil war that ends with a magical axe and the sorcerer says something like "There is only one law in this land, that good shall triumph over evil!"
Then there is this line... "Santa Clause has been delivering presents to children for 50 mortal years and now the shadow of death looms over him."
The sorcerer requests that they give the mantel of immortality to Santa at some immortal council meeting. It's faaantastic! I must find this movie and see it all rather than the last 10 minutes!

It's exciting! Aparently there is a cartoon version and a stop-motion animation version. The one I saw the last ten minutes of was the stop-motion one.
And yes, I know that I'm crazy...
