I have always had so many questions; I guess I'm just writing them down because I wonder if this will help me order them in my head.
It's not an important entry so feel free to delete it at this point.
Why me? I guess that is the first question; out of all the different incarnations that could have been made on the night of conception....why me? If it hadn't been me all this wouldn't have happened; blissful ignorance of life.
Is there an afterlife? Do I want there to be an afterlife? The way I see it is that heaven is a backhanded gift, you get in but maybe loads of the people you care so deeply about don't. And hell, how can it be worse than life? It can't.
Why are some people doomed to hurt everyone around them no matter how hard they try to the contrary, no matter how much they want to keep people happy and help and please everyone they just end up sticking their own foot in their mouth and digging their own grave. Surely these people should just leave, then they can't hurt those around them any more. But then by leaving they hurt them too; it is a no-win situation and nothing works.
How do you survive?

I have, along with you I suspect been hurt by, and even hurt people I have cared for. While the physical universe closes up around the hole that the events leave, the spiritual and mental plane never truly heals, it leaves a scar that remains forever festering with the phrase ‘ Is there more that I could have done?’.
I offer no platitudes, no wonder drugs, no easy solution because after all simply living is the hardest thing that most of us ever do.
I suppose the simplest answer is that in those strong enough the course of events through our lives no matter how random they seem shape the callous that we develop to simply cope.
The better solution is perhaps to try and reach outside of our own existence to help others, whether they be in pain, lost or simply in need of a sounding board for their hopes and fears..

The people I know who hurt those around them even when they try to help; all they do is try to help, that is what they do. But it doesn't work; what is the point?

You survive by keeping on, working as best you can and trying to be the best person you can be... Hard but unfortunatly true. Life seems so unfair and it is easy to believe you can make a complete hash at it and maybe some other sperm would have made a better run at it, but personally all I can say to it quite bluntly is balls... who said they could have done better or even would have done worse? You don't know, you can't change it you just have to accept it and try to do your best... ps if you find out how - please tell me...

Cheer up, Ena. You know what they say.
Some things in life are bad.
They can really make you mad.
Other things just make you swear and curse.
When you're chewing on life's gristle,
Don't grumble. Give a whistle.
And this'll help things turn out for the best.
And...
Always look on the bright side of life.
Always look on the light side of life.
If life seems jolly rotten,
There's something you've forgotten,
And that's to laugh and smile and dance and sing.
When you're feeling in the dumps,
Don't be silly chumps.
Just purse your lips and whistle. That's the thing.
And...
Always look on the bright side of life.
Come on!
Always look on the right side of life,
For life is quite absurd
And death's the final word.
You must always face the curtain with a bow.
Forget about your sin.
Give the audience a grin.
Enjoy it. It's your last chance, anyhow.
So,...
Always look on the bright side of death,
Just before you draw your terminal breath.
Life's a piece of shit,
When you look at it.
Life's a laugh and death's a joke. It's true.
You'll see it's all a show.
Keep 'em laughing as you go.
Just remember that the last laugh is on you.
And...
Always look on the bright side of life.
Always look on the right side of life.
Come on, Ena. Cheer up.
Always look on the bright side of life!
Always look on the bright side of life!
Worse things happen at sea, you know.
Always look on the bright side of life!
I mean, what you got to lose? You know, you come from nothing. You're going back to nothing. What have you lost? Nothing!
Always look on the bright side of life!
Nothing will come from nothing. You know what they say?
Always look on the bright side of life!
Cheer up, you old bugger. Come on. Give us a grin. There you are. See? It's the end of the post. Incidentally, this record's available in the foyer.
Always look on the bright side of life!
Some of us have got to live as well, you know. Who do you think pays for all this rubbish?
Always look on the bright side of life!
They'll never make their money back, you know. I told him. I said to him, 'Bernie.' I said, 'They'll never make their money back.'
Always look on the bright side of life!

Why do you have to accept it? Why do you have to be forced to accept life, huh? Why can't you just fight back and refuse?

Well some people do I suppose..
It is choice that a few make, to exit stage left.
Personally I wouldn't recommend it unless you know how the show ends.

Hmm, I'm not so sure, Ok the story ends for you, but it goes on with the lives around you that you have touched, however briefly. we all have an obligation to try to limit the inevitable damage our ultimate demise will inflict, and prolonging it for a reasonable time usually seems the best option
( of course you wouldn't want to do it, who want's to visit a non functional 145 year old bag of bones on a life support..)

You know someone once told me thats it's not your resonsiblity to make other people happy.
Which is true but some of us are destined to be people pleasers and no matter how hard we try everything will go pearshapped.
The people who know and love you will know that you ment well.

Hmm
*adopts stern face*
Of course Cal is right, on the whole our first obligation is to self, but if as a side product of pleasing ourselves, or at least serving our natures, we please others that is a positve bonus.
It is when our selfishness causes pain to others that perhaps we might take the time for a little emotional and social realignment..

As I learned recently, if you think you're depressed you'll become depressed. So just don't think you are.
