Virtuouschuffed has saved all year for her and V to go to Cuba for a holiday

Her flight was meant to take off at about 9am this morning. At 9.30am I received this phone call from her:


VC: Hi Mom!

lil: Hello love... did you collect your tickets alright?

VC: Yes. But the flight has been delayed until about 1.30 this afternoon.

lil: Oh dear. At least you won't miss it then.

VC: No, no problem with that. It seems there has been an unscheduled maintenance stop - V says it's probably just a flickering bulb that needs replacing.

lil: As long as that is all it is.

VC: I'm just looking at this HUGE cherrypicker. They are examining the tail rudder of a plane - Bet that's ours! Sorry, got to go. I don't want to use up all my phone credit.. Bye Mom! See you in two weeks! *click*


lil: Ummmm.... tail rudder??


Hubby has just checked the flights - Her flight left at approximately 2.30pm BST....

I'm sure she'll be fine.

The first time I went to a London meet, my flight was delayed for six hours! First, one tyre was bust, and then they managed to damage the second tyre, too. That was BA, bzw.

Typical!


OH.. And they are going in the hurricane season too!

Havana used to be a wonderful city. Let's hope that it will be again one day. At any rate, Cuba is a lovely island and VC should have a good time.

She wants to swim with the dolphins!

That would be totally awesome. I'd love to do something like that. I hope the water is still warm.

No problem with the water temperature, as long as they can avoid the hurricanes and tropical storms!
