At about 6.30pm last night I answered the phone;

VC: "Eeer.. Muuu'um?"

What love?

VC: "I've lost Hubby"

That's careless dear, where did you lose him?

VC: "On the Kegworth roundabout, he's followed the road markings instead of me!"

Silly boy! Let me know when you get to Peterborough

VC: "Okay.. bye Mum"

Thirty minutes later;

VC: "I'm still in the lay-by at Kegworth roundabout"

Hasn't he missed you yet?

VC: "Yeah" *giggles* "He went back to the roundabout and took another wrong turning, he's about 5 miles away from me now"

*giggles* I see he won't be able to live this down for some time!

VC: "Not if I have anything to do with it, he won't!"

Some 2 hours later, I finally received a call telling me they had arrived at Peterborough.. *giggles*.. and dearest Son-in-law was unusually quiet.

Looks like they will wake up to a very soggy campsite this morning too!

Roundabouts!

I didn't know they had tents at the British Medical Foundation. If they ever get there, maybe the & could help with this directional problem.

I've given up smoking!

I mean fire signals with wood and matches.

I love the roundabouts - even though they can be really confusing, it's not too bad, if you miss your turning, you can either go on as long as you need to find it, or, failing that and having taken a wrong turning, just go to the next roundabout which is usually only a few kilometers farther, and turn back there.

...and don´t do as some people did when my howtown got it´s first roundabout some ten years ago...

...there were ......individuals...that put in the reverse gear and drove BACKWARDS when they missed the exit...

*shakes head*

The problem with Peterb orough roundabouts is they actually hinder you when you try to leave.

Hope BMF was up to its usual standards, although having been a fairly frequent visitor in the past I am now wondering how much has been left out of the VC climbs beer tent story, as every time I went there the people doing this were a) completely inebriuated and b) nude.

So, VC, anything you'd care to add to that story?

(I saw at least one block slide down the roof of the marquee tent {BIG tent holding over a thousand people I'd guess} in the nude. Bearing in mind the tents are made from canvas I imagine he wont have had much fun when he woke up the next morning )

I know about the a) part.. but not about the b)...

Come on VC.. bare all and tell the truth!
