Hobbit guide entery
Asmodai Dark (The Eternal Builder, servant of Howard, Crom, and Beans) Started conversation Dec 8, 2003
The current Hobbit guide entery is a bit lame and contained a mistake (which ive been told has been corrected).
Does anyone fancy helping in the societies first jointly researched guide entery? Famous hobbits, the part they play in lord of the rings, hobbits pre-lotr etc.
If this works, which it might, then we could do more such as places in lotr, main charecters in lotr etc. Not only that but first time users will be able to find out loads about the trilogy without having read or watched anything, just through various links.
How about it?

Hobbits are also known as halflings in other areas, and that might have mroe info associated with it.

Although, I do suggest when we make our ENTRY we don't use excessive 'e's... Just felt like saying that...

Well, I reckon everyone should take like a different book and see what they can get from that. Like, the Hobbit, the actual LOTR book, the prelude to LOTR, the accompniment books TOlkien wrote, stuff like that. Notice I separated the prelude from the story of LOTR. The actual prelude is more information while the story is story, so they could be separated.
YOu could also separate each 'volume' in the books. YOu could also have someone study the films.

Well, neither am I. I'm busy relaxing. Besides which, it's be sorta hard to study Return of the King. It doesn't get released in Australia till Boxing Day.

But..but.. Even when it is reeleased I'll be on the Murray kayaking!! And then I get home and have 2 days to sleep before I go on the Jamboree. Shall have to get up for 4 hours, go out and see and come home and sleep some more. Shall have to tell parents this...
And I *have* to see Matrix Revolutions before I leave for the Murray. It's been out for *ages* but I haven't seen it!!! I've been on scout camps and all sorts of things
Me wanna see it now!!!!!!!!!!!! ...

i dunno, i idea came to me awhile ago whilst looking at the god awful hobbit entery that already existed (which was flawed and unresearched).
I just thought we could do better.

There is a short hobbit description over at my "Silver Sword" game A989698 but the halflings of my fantasy worlds are somewhat different from tolkien's shire-hobbits even though they are based on the above.
For one thing they can use magic - extremely well.
