Don't be intimidated by the size and scope of h2g2, it's one the friendliest places off of you could hope to be a part of. If some of the hootoo lingo leaves you a little confused, there is a handy page all about it @ A632431

You may like to take the <./>DontPanic-Tour</.> for a more comprehensive description of how h2g2 works... You might find <./>DontPanic</.> very handy.

A great way of getting involved in the comunity here is by checking out <./>Askh2g2</.>
Both <./>ThePost</.> [our weekly 'newspaper'], and the <./>frontpage</.> are great ways of keeping tabs on what is going on in the community of h2g2 in general. Subscribing to the <./>Announcements</.>page is also another way of knowing what's going on.


The 'Search h2g2' button is there so you can find guide entries by other Reseachers on a myriad of things. If there isn't one on something you know about or are interested in researching you may like to check out the Writing-Guidelines and set about creating one of your own

Im not being deliberately rude, just had lots on and not been online much!

Right, wanna pick your brain so be prepared to be confused!! I registered on h2g2 before they did the whole upd8 thing and messed about (or whatever it was they did) and I seem to be having problems getting my old page back! Is it because I only had a 6 character password or coz Im a bit dim? If there's a way I can get back into my old page it'll save me alot of work coz Ive done loadsa stuff on there that I'd like to be able to get back to and edit! Also, I really dont want to have to thru the whole thing of re-doing my personal space... mainly coz Im lazy and coz I dont think it likes me and makes me mad!!

Alot of people have either created a page in error or the bbc has sent them a new page rather than give them their old one.

if you email [email protected] with your original U number, your current one and your log on details then they may be able to re-unite you with your old page
